8.0uF 100V Electrolytic Non-Polarized Crossover Capacitor
8.0uF 100V Electrolytic Non-Polarized Crossover Capacitor is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for general crossover use. These capacitors are good for crossover restoration, or if you are tinkering with building a new crossover, and may need to change values. They are cheap and get the job done. That is exactly what I needed, and I imagine what most people looking for caps for their crossovers want. So, go with these. They may not be spot on the advertised value, but they will be close enough for use by mortals.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great ValuePhysically small for the cap value, nice long leads, and bi-polar/nonpolarized nature of this capacitor make it perfect for restoring crossovers of vintage speakers. I used it in the outboard KLH Model 12 crossover boxes. These speakers were in excellent-plus condition for their age, but capacitor values drift over time and they sounded rather muted on top with lumpy bass. After restoring the crossovers of these 40-year-old speakers with these and other values of nonpolarized electrolytic capacitors from Parts Express, these speakers now sound the way I remember them--an excellent alternative to the AR-3a. I have restored AR-3as as well, so I can directly compare them to the KLH Model 12s.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good budget capacitor, watch for toleranceI recapped my Harmon Kardon HK-20 speaker using these capacitors. Even though I only needed 2 (one per speaker), I decided to order 3 to closely match values. To my surprise, none of the capacitors were within 10% of their rated value (their rated value was 8 uF). One was about 8.97 uF, another about 8.95 uF, and another about 8.90 uF.In general, this is a good capacitor--the price is certainly right, and it will still be a good upgrade for an old speaker whose capacitors' performance is degrading with age. If you plan to build speakers where precision values are important, however (say, within 5 or 10 percent of their rated value), spend the extra money and get the polypropylene capacitors.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from no problemsI bought these for my 5.1. I'v been using them for about 3 years now with no problems. I listem to a lot of VERY loud music. My Sherwood amp makes enough power to burn up my Dayton DC130BS-4 5-1/4's in my Tritrix boxes. The caps aren't the same value as these but same "brand" and I checked all of them (all within 8%) when i burned up 2 of my Dayton's. im now building a set of Chang Double Mouth BVR Horn's with Pioneer B20's & hi-vi tn25's ill be using a set these on my crossover
