6mm Hex Drive Barbed Body Insert Nuts 20 Pcs.
What is the inner thread size?
Thank you samplerman! Did you purchase this exact item from PE? If so can you tell me what size screw to use with it? PE offers the #8 x 32 and #10 x 32 button head security screws, would either of those fit? Or is it something I will need to get screws for elsewhere? It would just be nice to know the size before I purchase. Not sure why they have not included the inner thread size in the description, they do for the T-nuts/Hurricane nuts. These are the best fasteners for mounting removable baffles when corner gussets are not possible/wanted or mounting drivers, specially truncated ones, close to the cabinet walls. Thanks Again!
The internal thread size is 6mm. The drill bit size for this insert is listed as 11/32" in the catalog. You can use these for mounting lightweight speakers in a cabinet where you do not have enough room to use T-Nuts. You will need an Allen type wrench to turn this into your drilled hole. When this insert is used to mount speaker feet the relative size of the internal thread is not as critical as when mounting a speaker in a cabinet. When used to mount speaker feet the insert is in compression. Just make sure the thread size of the screw or speaker foot matches the internal thread size of the insert you are using.I typically have used the 10-32 or 1/4" T-Nuts for speaker mounting depending on the application and weight of the speaker being mounted.PE sells the matching screws and speaker feet which match the internal thread size of this insert.Good luck with your project

what does 6mm designate
Is it the size allan wrench you use to seat it? If so then what is the inner thread information. The discription does not tell you what size bolt to use with it
It means you use a 6mm allen wrench to install the nut.
