Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great System for the $I've run a custom HT system w/a hard hitting 12" for years and wasn't sure what I should expect from this. I'm EXTREMELY impressed! The clarity and sound quality that come from this system in both theater applications as well as music is great! This sounds just as good as my in law's polk audio system (bass is better out of my dayton sys - but not apples to apple comparison there their polk is a 10"). I've had a couple main speakers that were a bit "crackly" at just a couple frequencies during some movies and all it took is a quick call to PE and they are switching them out for me! I'm impressed not only with the value of the product themselves but also the great customer service! Thanks Parts Express!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great sounding speakers at a VERY affordable priceThe title says it all. I was turned on to this speaker set by AVSFORUM where most of the reviews are great. I am glad I took their advice because this system gives (almost) as good sound as my much more expensive Harmon Kardon set which is in my den. When I first connected it the center sounded terrible and was very tinny. However upon further inspection I had the positive and negatives switched and once I corrected that it sounded great. The 12" sub is a monster and it will rattle the windows and break your wifes fine china if you're not careful! Hide your pets and small children if you decide to crank it up! Thanks Parts Express for a great value and did I mention the shipping was super fast!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Affordable + ExcellentI just moved my family and left a set of these speakers behind. When I went shopping for my new place, it was a short perusal of other options, and then back to buying these. Second set sounds just as great. Highly recommended.Shipping was fast and installation hardware was sound.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome sound!I purchased this system to install in our church youth room where we have a 50" TV. The room is about 20 feet wide by 30 feet long with a 22 foot high ceiling, so it is a large room for a home surround sound system. The TV is kind of small for such a large room, but it was donated so we take what we can get. The room has acoustic panels on the walls to keep the reflections and reverb under control.I just set up the speakers today and connected them to our Yamaha RX V375 surround sound amp (a good power match for the speakers). I bought these speakers without hearing them, going only by these reviews and a lot of research of other options in the same price range, so I was a little nervous. The speakers seemed so small on the walls of that large room. When we tested it with some action DVDs we were blown away by the sound! It didn't sound like a home theater system at all. It sounded like the best professional theater I've ever heard! The left and right (front) speakers reproduced the music with clarity and sparkle. The surround speakers (rear) nicely gave you the illusion of actually being in the movie. We closed our eyes and noticed how real everything sounded. The center channel speaker was present and crisp allowing us to easily hear the spoken dialogue through the music and/or effects. The sub added all the deep, punchy bass we needed with plenty of headroom to spare, nicely complimenting the speakers to where it sounded like a very large, high quality system. We crossed over at 100 hertz. The speaker mounting hardware was basic, but adequate. It would have been nice if they could have swiveled to any angle (instead of only swiveling only on one axis), but fortunately that was not necessary for our application. I found the build quality to be rugged and it exceeding my expectations. I was glad I wasn't needlessly charged for too much fluff and finish, which was not important.I read a lot of reviews that said "Look no further. You won't be disappointed with these." I must agree. I know it sounds cliché, but buy these. It's not only a great deal for $200, It is a great speaker system at any price. You really don't need to spend more on anything else (and no, I don't work for Parts Express). The only problem is that the large sound really makes the TV seem too tiny.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Value at its absolute finest.Good luck finding a better deal. Sound? Amazing. Coming from a cheap logitech 5.1 setup to this paired with a yamaha rx-v375 there simply is no comparison. However, I do own a 500 watt sub in my home setup built around a tc sound 12" and I can say this sub hits lower frequencies and overall sounds cleaner. This could be due to it being in a ported box.Overall, easily the best bang for your buck out there. The surrounds came with mounts and wire. The sub came packaged extremely well protected. No regrets at all.

5.1 Home Theater Bundle 12" Powered Subwoofer

Can you upgrade this 6-speaker set to use the wireless 12" subwoofer instead of the wired one?

Asked by: Rmjirish
We cannot substitute items in this kit, but you can add the Sub-Link wireless system in order to make this subwoofer wireless. You can see the system below.

What are the specs. on the subwoofer? Xmas, (Fs) port diameter, etc.? Does P.E. sell this subwoofer driver separately and if so what is its part number? Same for the amplifier; what is the part number? Thanks

Asked by: Whiskey88
This subwoofer is the Dayton SUB-1200. We do not sell the amp or driver separately, they are proprietary to these models. The enclosure tuning frequency is around 28 Hz.

I have this package, and I have a question regarding mounting. It comes with several rubber pads, which I assume are to be used with the included wall mounts, but there are no instructions showing how these pads should be used.

Asked by: Billy36
The rubber pads are supposed to be used as small feet if these will be sitting on a desktop or credenza. The foam rubber strips go between the wall mount and the speaker to help add friction to hold the speaker in place.

Will an 85 watts per channel receiver can be use on this?

Mine is an 85 watts/ channel receiver. I always go by speakers with higher wattage than the receiver. Satellite speaker is just about there.
Asked by: Joselsantos
This setup will work fine with a receiver like that, the smaller satellites will never see anywhere near 85 watts, especially if you have the high pass crossover set around 100 Hz.

do you have speaker mounts (wall, rear) and stands (front) that would be a good firt for these?

Asked by: Woodworj
Parts express carries the Sanus speaker mounts, they are awesome. You can mount from ceiling or wall with a full range of motion. We use them quite often, as a matter of fact, we carry 2-3 of the 5-pack at all times. They fit any speaker and the price is great compared to anywhere else for a name brand like Sanus. That speaker set is outstanding for the price as well. We used that speaker set at a retirement home where we had a 120" electric screen and Hd projector. We bought an extra pair to make it a 7.1 set up(recommended). And they sound great. We needed to put more $$ towards the control system for easy use by ever changing staff members.

I guess what I want to know is are the speakers self-powered?

Asked by: William Koenig
Only the subwoofer is self powered. The surround speakers must be powered by your surround receiver.
