5.1 Home Theater Bundle 10" Powered Subwoofer is rated 4.75 out of 5 by 16.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent - Best Bang for the Buck Out ThereThis is a great set of HT speakers, period. Front, center and rears have excellent clarity. The SUB-1000 is not muddy sounding at all. Personally, I prefer smaller HT speakers, and these fit the bill perfectly. For the price, these can't be beat. Also, the Parts Express customer service is excellent.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value, great sound.Paired the speakers with a Denon AVR-E300. Excellent budget system. The speakers are clear with great range, and the subwoofer blends well to round out the midbass and low-end. Very clear vocals during movies and no audible distortion. Subwoofer is not overpowering when adjusted well and the speakers are great for music as well when used as a 2.1 setup. Used in an 800 sq ft apartment setting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quite happyHave had this product for about a week but have had the big brother (with the 12" sub) for about a month. Am driving both with Onkyo TX-NR414s, which seem to be a decent match. The setup with the 10" sub is in a moderately large bedroom and all speakers but the sub itself are mounted to the nine foot ceiling. Have played a rather eclectic set of "stations" from Pandora and in concert with appropriate listening modes on the Onkyo am very pleased with the bright, clear (dare I say crisp) reproduction coming from the center, front and surround speakers. The subwoofer is readily adjustable to provide as much punch as I could want but is easily tweaked to eliminate any muddy or booming "byproducts".The other configuration with the 12" sub is located in a lounge area of my home office. Aside from the sub, the speakers are all mounted on the eight foot ceiling. Our experience here is very similar to that of the bedroom and while the slightly larger subwoofer is probably overkill, it is possible to jack things up to a level where one can experience a truly therapeutic dose of butt-kicking distraction; be it from The Rolling Stones to Little Feat (bless you Lowell) to k. d. lang ("Hallelujah").I have no doubt that we could have spent several times our modest expenditure and have experienced diminishing differential returns which we would likely fail to appreciate. Physically, the speakers are plain, black and utilitarian in appearance. Depending on one's expectations and requirements, this is not necessarily a bad thing. The overall effect clearly states that you put your money into the quality of the sound and are less concerned about the inobtrusive cabinetry from which it emanates.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Big Boom !For those who like to build their sound system separately, this 5.1 is a great decision for under $200.00I paired it with a Yamaha RX-V471BL receiverThe center has a nice curved design, standing or flat laid, the satellite speakers sound awesome and all came with the option of hang it or stand it with rubber stickers. The SUB even more surprising with its size and performance. It has an optional Front speaker channel and the fact that it can be in stand-by mode amazes me. Not mentioned the bass can be felt in the back yard. It really brought real music into my living room. Hey... It made my wife HAPPY

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great sound, great price, durabilatyI have a small electronis buisness and this is my standard value surround sound speaker system for a number of reasons. Bang for thr buck cannot be matched by any other system that I know of. Fills a large sound room with sound. Sounds great with music in stereo as well as surround mode. I always pair these systems with a Pioneer VSX-821-k receiver. I'm not sure how many systems I have out but I've never had any complaints of malfuntions with this system.

Will this be ok with the Yamaha HTR-4066 a/v receiver, or do I have to choose speakers with a higher wattage rating?

Asked by: Lewis54
These will be fine. I recommend setting the high pass for the satellites around 120 Hz to prevent them from damage, the sub will handle everything from 120 and down.

If I am planning on a 7.1 system, what rear sattelite speakers would I need to match the HTP-2 system speakers. Also, I need them to be wall mount. Thanks

Asked by: OldDude
I would recommend an additional pair of the Dayton satellite speakers, which are part number 300-670.

How are present speakers wires connected to speakers?

Asked by: Learner
Im not sure I understand the question. These speakers plug into a standard 8 ohm amplifier or receiver with standard 16 gauge speaker wire. The subwoofer is powered and gets plugged into the subwoofer output on a surround sound receiver and also plugs into the wall for power. Other adjustments like output level and crossover frequency are determined by the end user.
