2-7/8" Square Frame Mini Speaker 16 Ohm is rated 4.5714 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Seen many of theseThese speakers were found in many old Beige PowerPC Macintosh systems and worked reasonably well for their size. Any vintage computer restorer who is working on a Mac with this size speaker should jump on this deal especially if the original speaker needs replacement.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfect for my intended useI bought a bunch of these (around 150) to make a teaching tool... I work with SONAR and mentor young empolyees. I made a 12x5 planar array using these speakers to demonstrate bramforming principals. The array works very well, has a gain of about 17 dB re: one speaker. I also intend to make a cylindrical array to demonstrate more topics in beamforming. Although SONAR works in water the concepts are the same in air.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It's a paper cone speaker, sounds like a paper cone speaker too. These are really meant for voice reproduction, tones and sounds, but not music. They do work well, and I find the quality decent. Made in china of course. If you need a speaker like this one and are not sure about it, they work. They work very well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what I needed to repair my intercomI needed a small 16-ohm speaker to replace broken ones in two of my Nutone intercom units. It was hard to find a 16-ohm speaker, much less one at a good price, and then there they were! These speakers did the trick and were only a dollar each. I bought three to do the two repairs and have a spare. Shipping charges were very reasonable too. The small computer board plugs on them were also useful as connectors to connect the speakers to the supply wires. A #20 wire plugs right in. How convenient.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nutone door Intercom Speaker pn#360760000 replacementI needed a 3 1/2inch 16ohm speaker for my Nutone Door Intercom speaker since it rusted out after 25yrs of being in the outside elements. This speaker was not the same size but small enough to use just one mounting screw. It was not a weatherized type speaker so I just enclosed it in a sandwich bag and tiewrapped it to keep the moisture out. The clarity and volume was excellent when I tested the door talk intercom to converse with the person at my front door.Nutone speaker replacement was $20.48 + shipping so this was a GREAT deal!

what the heck is AlNiCo?!?!
Asked by: speaker freack
This is a description of the magnet material. In addition to the Iron, it has aluminium (Al), nickel (Ni) and cobalt (Co) in the magnet.

I'm wanting to make an array of speakers for my car and powering them with a 4 channel 4ohm amp, maybe 16 of them. Would these work for that?

Asked by: jacobjacob
Yes, it would work, but you will be severely limited because of the 1-watt power rating. You would need to wire 4 speakers in parallel for each channel. That would work for your 4 channel 4 ohm amp.

The mounting holes are approximately 0.175" (4.45mm) in diameter, and spaced 3.150" (80mm) center-to-center, measured diagonally.
