Is the power supply a regulated power supply or a transformer?
This is not a regulated power supply and a measured voltage with no load can be up to 50% higher than its rating.

will this adaptor be able to replace my old one?
Please let me know if this ac adaptor can replace my current adaptor that has the following specifications:input: 120VAC, 60Hz 6WOutput: 12VDC 200mAI am conserned about the output of your adaptor being 500mA (wihich is diferent from 200mA listed on my adaptor) and I don't see the wattage on your adaptor (my current adaptor is 6W). Thank you.
As long as the voltage is the same and you have at least the same amount of current (mA) you will be fine. The devices like this only draw the amount of current they need, so the 500 mA will not hurt anything.
