from Excellent product for MDF or Hardwood installationI love these, especially on MDF or hardwood, and I will never go back to a ordinary T-nut for this application. I would recommend and will use traditional T-nuts for a softer plywood installation. As others have said, straight perpendicular holes are a must for these, and if you have a drill press or a drill guide these are a much better product than regular T-nuts. If you only have a hand drill without any kind of guide I would suggest a traditional t-nut. I wish these were stainless, for the absence of magnatism, so they could be used with stainless screws.

from Not a FanPerhaps I did something wrong but several of them did not properly seat themselves and would spin as the screw was tightened. There were no instructions included and the online product description cites "extremely simple installation", so I feel like kind of an idiot.

from Hurricane headacheI used these in 3/4" plywood, they went in quite smoothly but when it was time to install screws into them, they started to spin. I eventually had to use some liquid nail glue onto the back of each. These are not designed for wood

from Hurricane nuts are goodI tested these for the first time. They have incredible holding power and look good. I highly recommend them. I used them holding my 18" speaker to the box. There are no worries of them coming loose. I used 3/4" MDF. Special care should be taken during drilling the holes straight and center. There is very little margin of error. If anything is not straight, you will have difficulty trying to get the screw started into the nut. I suggest that you start them all by hand first and then run them in with a powered screwdriver.

from Great, just take your time installing...I just used about 25 of these for a large sub project and they worked wonderfully. The threads on all 50 (yes, I checked) were all cut perfectly.Use a 1/4" bit for the pilot holes. I also put a little bit of construction adhesive on them prior to hammering them in and I didn't have a single one strip out.One thing to be careful of is the angle of your through-holes. Make sure you are drilling perfectly straight holes for these guys or you WILL have problems threading - particularly if your enclosure wall width is on the thicker side (mine was 1.5"). I think some people have mistaken off-kilter holes for bad threading. Use a drill press or one of those "hold your drill at 90 degrees" attachments they sell at the big box stores and you'll be good to go.

from Sorry to disagree...I bought a bag of 50. Tried them on my Infinity Kappas. First, multiple brands of high-quality stainless steel 10-32 bolts had trouble threading into most of the nuts. Once they did the flutes in at least one failed to keep the nut in place. It turned a 45 minute job into a 4 hour nightmare. Went back to T-nuts, worked fine. First ever partsexpress product that disappoints. Cannot recommend them
