The Monitor 6C is a top performing center channel speaker designed to complete any home theater. As one of four models in the completely redesigned Monitor series, the Monitor 6C is timbre matched to the rest of the family and easily integrated to a full high performance system. Two 6-1/2" woofers and a 19mm PEI dome tweeter enhance this center channel's frequency response and sound clarity to provide exact sound reproduction and a realistic performance. The Monitor 6C features magnetic shielding of all drivers to allow the speaker to be placed in close proximity to video equipment. Plus, the Monitor 6C is also made with high quality materials like polypropylene woofer cones with rubber surround and its PEI dome tweeter for increased durability. Engineered from the ground up for accurate sound and exceptional imaging in real world situations, the Monitor 6C is in line with the high standards of performance expected from MTX. Bought it for my mom along with the MTX 60i for the front and 5i for the rear this 6c center channel has wide dynamic range, clear and legible dialog, and is perfectly timbre matched to the rest of the set.

Good Sounding Center Channel

Good looking cabinet. The grill is a little restrictive and causes a little comb filtering, but it's not a deal breaker. The speaker looks good enough to run without the grill should you choose to do so. You'd be hard pressed to find another Center Channel speaker for $100 bucks that sounds better. It's also very efficient.

It is part of my bedroom surround sound system which consists of 4 modified MTX Monitor 5i's (See my review of them for more info.), a Sony 100W 8" powered sub and an Onkyo TX-SR606 receiver connected to my PC with a Toslink connector. I have an Asus Xonar DX Sound Card and am running Windows MCE 2005.

This system is used to watch and record TV, watch movies, listen to music and play video games, along with writing reviews about speakers bought from Parts Express. :)

I recommend this Center Channel Speaker to anyone looking to buy one in this price range.
