Tang Band W6-1139SI 6-1/2" Subwoofer

I used these in a floorstanding two-way paired with fullrange drivers above 250 Hz, and they are just amazing. The Xmax spec is true, and the mechanical properties can back it up. The suspension may look huge, but it's needed. Seeing them work is so much fun, and they never seem to run out of steam.

The problem with these specs in such a small driver is that they need a small box with a low tuning to not get peaky around resonance, and fitting a large enough port in a small box can be very tricky. Should work well with a PR.

Build quality is good, but a cast-chassis version for a bit higher price wouldn't hurt.

I own 5 of the 1139 currently. 4 of the SC, and 1 SG. These are amazing overachievers. Pair them with a 70W plate amp, and tune to about 25-30Hz in a .5-1ft^3 box, and prepare to be amazed. Thing is, like it's bigger brother the 1363, it likes oversized vented boxes as well. Using a 3" diameter vent, you can reach to 18.5 Hz with 70W input, without exceeding xmax! try that with another 6.5" driver!!
