The perfect solution Thursday, November 5, 2009
Dave from Phoenix, AZ
We have a TV that outputs 5.1 audio on a coax connector (RCA) and a receiver that only inputs audio on a fiber-optic connector. This was the perfect solution. We can even plug the transformer into the switched outlet on the back of the receiver so that it only runs when the receiver is turned on.

It does the job :-) Wednesday, June 25, 2008

My new TV has coax digital output, and my A/V receiver only had optical inputs available. This product is what makes it work. The installation would have taken less than a minute, but it was my first experience with optical... so it took me awhile to figure out that those black plastic things in the optical jacks of the converter and my receiver were sort of just dust cover/plugs that had to come out, and that the short nylon tubes on the ends of my optical cable had to come off. Live and learn ;-)

Looked at other items that were similar and all were quite a bit more than this brand. Hoped this one wouldn't have any problems being the cheapest of the lot and am not disappointed. Sounds as great, easy to set up, no switches to change between devices.
