Tried this product out on some recent subs for my car. The bare paper cones worried me due to the moisture my trunk develops in the summer time once in a while. I needed something to protect my speakers, and I was pleasantly surprised about the cosmetic nature of the product. I used a 1 inch foam brush to apply and got some stroke marks here and there. Works great, cleans up incredibly easy with warm water alone. Dries fast. If you follow the clear, detailed instructions on the side of the can (i.e. using a spray gun or really nice brush) you can get that uniform gloss black that most of the higher quality speakers come from the factory with. Depending on the smoothness of your speaker cones and steadiness of your hands, you can get a downright gorgeous gloss black surface if need be! It didn't affect the sound quality of my subs, but I would be cautious about applying too many coats on critical midrange speakers as the paint builds easily. Worked fantastic on my subwoofers.
