Dayton CCS-33B 3-Way Center Channel Speaker Black

This was a good component when considering the price and quality of construction. It was intended to be a better alternative to the built in speakers in a flat panel TV. The sound is a bit bright and lacks tone, but still better than built in speakers. By lowering the gain on the center channel it provides the desired effect for balanced front left, center, and front right sound output.

Received and mounted it on the wall and began enjoying in an afternoon. Mounting bracket and hardware are not top-line but adequate. An instruction-sheet would help for those not used to DIY work. The main issue: how does it perform? - Quite well. It gives the proper perspective that a center channel is supposed to. It has been installed in a 5.1 system with in-ceiling forward and surround speakers, the overall effect is surprisingly spacious, yet centered. Without going over $200, I don't think that this center-channel speaker can be beat for performance and value.

I don't have too much to compare to in this department but for the price this center sounds great. It's small which is what I really like about it and delivers good sound. I only want it for voices so after a little tuning from the receiver it was dialed in nicely. Works well with my Dayton in-ceiling speakers. Highly recommend.
