I do custom installations incorporating handcrafted speakers. These woofers performed very well in a 2-way design mated with a 1" silk dome tweeter. Smooth midrange and decent bass (though maybe lacking a little punch) when used in a ported cabinet. Use a notch filter to tame the peak at around 5kHz if using with a low order crossover.

If you plan to flush mount the woofer by cutting a recess in the baffle - watchout - the edge of the plastic frame is slightly tapered (wider at the bottom than the top), leaving you with a larger than expected gap between the top edge of the frame and the cutout.

it was the perfect replacement for my old audax model#DT101 which is no longer available. it even used the same mounting holes. double thumbs up.
