Dayton RSS315HF-4 12" Reference HF Subwoofer 4 Ohm

Built a 3.3 cu.ft. box for it, tuned to it's free air resonance. Measures flat in my largish room to below 20Hz. Very musical bass, great LFE. I was leaning toward getting the Titanic, but I'm glad I chose this one instead. It's really well built, very stout.
Literally shakes the room like an earthquake, and it's very efficient. At the moment I'm only running 100W into it. I can't imagine what it will do if run at it's rated power, but I intend to find out!

Installed this driver in a 3.2 cuft. cabinet (WinISD modeled for best sealed Q) but added a floor-firing, slot-loaded 12" Dayton passive radiator tuned to be -3db at about 18 Hz. (WinISd models that to achieve similar response from a ported design would require a 4" x 11" port in a 5.8 cuft cabinet - 80% larger!). Completely satisfied with outcome. No extra weight added to passive to keep it light and fast, 1 1/4" all around, all sides braced, with Dayton 240 watt amp installed. Weighs 118 lbs and lined with 1" Sonic Barrier - very solid, deep, powerful, clean sound. Very impressed. One audiophile friend says 'best bass he has ever heard!'. Highly recommend this driver.

I HAVE 2 OF THESE IN MY SYSTEM EACH ONE IN IT'S OWN 4CUFT BOX PORT TUNED TO -3DB AT 15HZ AND I'M ONLY USING THE DAYTON SA-240 CUSTOM SET TO FLAT DOWN TO 15HZ WITH A 3DB ROOL OFF AT 9HZ.
FOR MOVIES THIS THESE THINGS WILL START MOVING MY COUCH BEFORE THEY PRODUCE ANYTHING THAT CAN ACTUALLY BE HEARD AND FOR MUSIC THE BASS IS VERY TIGHT AND CLEAN. THE CONSTRUCTION IS VERY GOOD FOR $140 I DON'T KNOW WHAT ELSE I COULD USE.
