Pioneer B20FU20-51FW 8" Full Range Driver

Purchased 3 months ago, have experimented with 6 different cabinet designs. Found the one that works. This driver needs a good size baffle to bring out the mids, minimum 16". To bring out the bass use a back loaded bass horn design, (basic formula is 1100/ low frequency = length of horn in feet.) Fold the horn and use a 12" mouth out of the back of the cabinet preferably directed into the corner. I run mine off of a push/pull 8 watt tube amp. One to two watts is nice listening level, at four watts you need a bigger room, at 6 watts you can hear it down the street. At 8 watts the bass is shaking the windows. Down side; ugly speaker cabinet, not wife freindly.

Connected them to Harman/Kardon AVR 147 to break them in, no cabinet, temporary connections. Even at low volume with no baffle the sound is warm and rich. I bought these they were were highly rated for the money. So far I am very impressed, will buy more.
