A neodymium-powered 4" driver, this unit offers great bass extension and a smooth frequency response. The unique ultra-thin polypropylene cone maintains strength via special ridges in the cone, while having a very low moving mass. A long voice coil, rubber surround, and phase plug allow good use of this drivers 3.4 mm of Xmax. 4 ohm impedance is great for automotive use or high-sensitivity designs. a real gem if tamed properly

Despite the peaks and the rising response curve, these little drivers can be tamed to give extraordinary performance in full range format. After much thought, modeling, and consulting with Taterworks(who built the Stones with these drivers), I ended up using a 7 component contour network with that reshapes the rising response, tames the peaks, and takes care of the BSC. After a few months of field testing, I am very pleased with the result. It is sufficient for most music and will make awesome multimedia speakers. One note is that it does beam the high frequencies(due to cone size) which makes optimal listening area is within 15 degrees of axis.

Used a pair of these with a Dayton DTA-1 amp for my computer speakers. Just excellent seperation and definition and plenty of volume. Has convinced me that single drivers in low SPL applictions can't be beat.
