Speaker Cabinet 1/2" Super Toe Spike Set 4 Pcs.

When the Dayton 1/2 spikes are installed they work great and last a long time. This is the second time I used this spikes I added a set on my DCM TF-v10.0's 10 years ago and they are still on there well and no rust or any sign of age! They do there job period. Now the down side you have too take some time installing them because if you don't they will break! The Dayton threaded inserts grab so much wood when installing them they bind the insert if you keep threading the insert they will beak off!!! You have too back them in and out like ten times each one too clean the threads of the insert of wood and the hole too! If you don't do this they will beak! So a 5 min to 10 min install for each speaker cabinet goes too 1 hour each speaker cabinet! So these are not a time saver for install! Take your time when installing them!!! Good product when installed right and you take there time.

The threaded insert, like the other guy said, is quite fragile. I have used these before, but I bought brass threaded insert to use with them. The spikes are well made, strong and long. For what I used them for this time, I needed to by stainless steel threaded inserts to use with them, for they were going to be supporting a lot of weight.

Not much that can be said about these. They are priced right, and do what you'd expect them to.

I guess if I were going to be picky about it, I wonder why the spikes don't have a hex shaped shaft so that one could use a wrench to turn them against the jam-nut.

Still, a pretty good product for what you pay for a set of 4!
