Avel Y236651 250VA 18V+18V Toroidal Transformer

Used it for my Gainclone project and it works great.

I purchased this transformer for a Chip Amp power supply. The transformer is an excellent value. It`s heavy, with large wire and handles both, the current and voltage I required for this project. This transformer doesn`t get even worm. It is supplied with a nice size bolt, two rubbber washers, and retaining nut. I highly recommend this torroid to anyone, who is building a P.S.U. that would require a single or dual 18 volt A.C. input and high current.

Got this for gainclone, bought another too, to upgrade it to dual mono.
Works well, really like that they indicate which leads go to what in small diagram on the xformer. Mounting hardware (bolt and disk) come with it too.
Good, amp sounds nice, doesn't cost a fortune.


PS: Might want to look over their various xformers if building a gainclone amplifier-this size was fine for my setup. 22V + 22V secondaries maybe more common choice for 8 ohm speakers but check to be sure what suits your needs.
