High Power Door Lock Actuator 2 Wire

I just put 4 of these in my 11 year old Suburban. This is the second time they have been replaced. The factory units only seem to have a 5 year life. These units are at least as powerful as the factory units, two thirds the size, half the weight and at least one sixth the price. They were easy to install using only the included hardware with only the smallest amount of "head scratching." If they only last two years, they're still a bargain.

I bought these from parts express over 10 years ago. I still own the car that has them and they are starting to fail - because the rubber seal had deteriorated and water got in some of them.

But I am getting these same ones as replacements because they work great over time.

Now I read SVcomputertech.webs review and claims to be a professional. These are DC motors, not solenoids. They are designed to have 0.5 sec of current applied in each direction. Any motor which you don't allow to spin, but apply constant current will burn. The impedance is too low and will generate a lot of heat - again if you don't allow the rotor to spin. Doesn't get any simpler. Great product for what you pay.
