Dayton HPSA1000 1000W Subwoofer Amplifier

I have three of these for three sub-sub proects. I already have dual subs - 2 x 15" Klipshorns. Right....I know. I made a sub-sub with 4 x 15" Titanics as the motor exciting a quarter wave 14-foot tube. With the Dayton 1 kW amp it is insane how much music is down there. Speech is not comprehensible and things move around. Glass moves 2" fore and aft, remarkable it does not shatter. This is flat to 5 Hz and and registers 5.2 Richter (off the acoustic meter). Can be dangerous. Nothing touches it. Also fantastic customer service.

I have mated two of these in separate custom enclosures driving Dayton 15" Titantic drivers and they more than fill my bonus room theater with thunderous bass. I can easily beat what my local cineplex has to offer. A bit longer speaker connecting wire would have been nice.

Only caveat with these is I had to replace one of them after it received a power spike from my automatic system turn-on sequencer and it no longer worked. I normally left the amps on and turned them on and off using a Niles AC-3 unit triggered by my Rotel processor. I now turn them on and off manually since I do not want to leave them on all the time in order to conserve electricity.

I have a Velodyne CHT15 sub that was OK, but just couldn't reach down and deliver the lowest frequencies at realistic levels. So I ordered the Dayton Titanic MkIII sub and installed it in place of the lame OEM Velodyne sub and it was cleaner with more low end but it was clear it was starving for power. 300W just not enough. Enter the HPSA1000, problem solved big time.

This is a very efficient sub amp. I have a large dedicated theater room with the sub enclosure installed as a built-in with the rest of the component rack in the wall. This 15" 1000W sub can produce very high sound pressure, so be careful with your hearing. Unless you have a huge room with 30' ceilings, this is all the sub you will ever need.
