Great replacement for old busted JBL PB-12 amp

I have a JBL PB-12 subwoofer. The amp that was in it had blown and I sent it in to JBL for repair, and it blew again, so it sat for a number of years since parts for it were no longer available. Just a little cabinet cutting and this amp became a great replacement. Now my home theatre again rumbles with the LFEs movies should have!

I have been using Dayton's SB240 sub amp with different subs and they all sound clean, deep, and punchy. Plugged them into this 70W amp and was dissapointed. Not only did the bass seem to cut off below 60Hz, the sound was muddy and distorted. Maybe I got a bad amp? I gave the features a 3 for not having a heat sink and the performance a half star for powering up and playing at least something. I will be returning this amp.
