HiVi M3N 3" Aluminum/Magnesium Midbass

I made 1.021 cu ft enclosures for these speakers and x-overed relatively high at 3.5k with a second order. They have very nice bass for a speaker this size, audible down to 50hz. I highly recommend these drivers, but they need a large enclosure even sealed if you expect to get any low end from them.

As the other reviewers mentioned, it has nice bass performance for its size. I used these in a small pair of MTM's with an ND20FA-6, and am very happy with the sound quality. I've used the B3N / B3S's in the past, and while they're a slightly better value (given that they also give good performance but they cost about half as much), the M3N seems like a nicer overall driver.

I used these in a pair of skinny towers to sit next to my flat screen for lower-volume duty when I need to avoid waking up the neighbors. Each was about 33" x 5" w x 7.5" d. The MTM's took up the top 11", and the bottom chamber went to a side-firing TB-876SD 5" 'subwoofer'. (The subs are run in parallel from an SA-70 amplifier to fill the low end). Very happy with the results.

This tiny 3" mid-woofer does the job much better than any stock size speaker IMHO. Better bass than the equivilant Tang Band, but since it does not have a phase plug, not as smooth on the upper higher end - definately use with tweeter.
