Dayton DC28F-8 1-1/8" Silk Dome Tweeter

I paired these tweeters with the HiVi F6 woofer to replace my Infinity front speakers. They sound magnificent! I have to thank the Parts Express staff for helping me choose this tweeter. They are very clear and I have not noticed any problems so far listening to rock, blues, jazz or classical music.

I used these in every enclosure in my 5.1 set up,very pleased with them,especially when i listen in 2 channel stereo with my front towers,very clean detailed sound,wide dispersion,very happy and highly reccomend them.

Purchased these for a DIY 2-way with 8 inch woofer (Peerless HDS Nomex). Overall sound can be quite stunning with most program material! Transparent, generally very smooth, with wide dispersion. However, I have found that with complex orchestral passages (brass, choral, i.e., Borodin's Polovetsian Dances) the tweeter's limitations begin to show, with some loss of control, grain and sibilance distortion. As for build quality, the rear chamber and faceplate, which is somewhat large (4.25 in.) are plastic. Therefore, care is needed when mounting to baffle as to not over-tighten and deform the faceplate. Everything considered though, this is a fine unit for 20 bucks!
