always good to be able to attenuate before too-sensitive preamps and power amps. one problem is this unit is a little wide (the plastic housing) and this often rubs against its mate or actually pushes it off-center a bit when the stereo inputs are close together, which is invariably the case.

I've used them to attenuate line out of my higher end CD player on my vintage receiver Tape input. Sonically I can't complain and don't notice any kind of compromise. Only complaint is that they are fragile. I managed to break off the center pin on one so now I have to order another. The price is definitely right!

very poor engineering, the ground is not carried directly through and can cause noise and hum. I took one apart and the attenuator is a ballanced type and this is an unballanced application, really bad engineering. I bought 4 and after testing put them all in the trash.
