Cable like this is commonly marked with one foot marks along its length to make cutting to the correct length simple. Unfortunately, the run of cable I received had the one foot marks about 18 inches apart, and I cut incorrect size pieces. A rather unfortunate QC Faux Paus. You cannot return custom cut cable. This may be on one run of cable only, but who knows? Look and measure before you cut.
The new supplier of this cable to PE uses thinner insulation than the SAME PE part number I purchased a while ago. These two cables of identical gauge are now of different overall diameter.

I bought a bunch of this for my car, too much actually. (It worked great by the way.) I had about 15 feet of black and red leftover. I got froggy one day and thought, hmm, wonder how this would work for speaker cable. Well, if you can find connectors or bananna plugs that will accept 8 gauge cable, you're in for a treat. Soooo much more power delivery, especially in the low end. It seems to be pretty hih quality copper. I'm thinking of getting some of the 10 gauge cable to wire my home theater speakers with, I'll post a reveiw if I do decide to. All in all, Good quality cable for high power car audio, and it makes a great speaker cable as well!
