These high-quality 5-way binding posts offer audiophile features at a reasonable price. The fully insulated design prevents the accidental shorting of speaker wires. A free-spinning metal ferrule on the tightening knob allows a secure connection without any tendency to work loose. The cabinet ends are terminated with .250" male-disconnect-style tabs, which allow the use of standard female disconnects and also heat quickly for direct soldering. Work with the Dayton Binding Post Plates or any cabinet panel with a keyed 11.5mm hole; 25mm thread length. Sold in red/black pairs.

Careful with the heat when soldering
Tuesday, August 25, 2009
Robert from New Hampshire

These are generally pretty nice quality. I found them easy to use, but you have to be careful when you heat them to solder to the tab. If you over heat them, it is possible to cause the plastic insulation on the spade lug nut to lose its grip on the metal nut. This makes it hard to tighten the nut because the insulation slips when you apply too much torque. Also be aware that you have to insert spades or bare wire through a slot. This is no issue for bare wire, but for spades, you have to be careful what size spade you use or they will be too wide.

Best Bang for the Buck
Tuesday, July 14, 2009
Bill from Scottsdale, AZ

I use these when I upgrade older amplifiers to replace the stock and usually very cheap binding posts that were original equipment. There are a few better posts out there at many times the price of these, but these look and perform almost as well. A good choice for the hobbyist updating his equipment.

Why buy cheap posts? Excellent features,a bargain!
Thursday, June 25, 2009
vintage stereo nut from Ben Lomond CA

Sure, we all hate to part with our hard earned cash, yet have you ever really been happy with those cheap posts which only cost you a few bucks a pair? I sure have not! These posts are now the standard fare on all the speakers I upgrade or build, no more cheapies for me. The main feature I have been searching for was found on these connectors which I could never find on the less costly posts. When securing a bare wire or spade lug, the clamping area must not rotate as the post is turned in order to produce the tightest possible connection. Much like a washer under a nut, this feature allows for greater clamping force over a one piece design by decoupling the rotational friction from the wire or lug when turning the post to secure the wire or lug. The insulated cover comes off easily so you can grasp the post firmly when using in this manner, and for those who only use banana plugs, then none of this really matters at all ..
