Dayton SA100 100W Subwoofer Amplifier

I purchased this amp to replace the amp in the MTX 12" sub box. RMS power is 100 watts in 4 ohms and 75 watts in 8 ohms. installation was easy. turned on Transformers 2. was very disappointed , made the speaker sound blown, very muddy, wouldn't handle any volume at all. the twelve in the MTX box is rated at 3.2 ohms. so this amp should of worked just fine. ?

I'm not an audioplile by any means but this is a great replacement amp. My old sub was a JBL 12 inch that I didn't want to throw away. Subs are expensive so I thought about trying to send it somewhere to have it fixed then saw Parts-Express. The installation wasn't perfect as there is a hole from the previous amp. I plugged it up and now the sub sounds better than new. It powers the 12 inch speaker nicely and I'd highly recommend this route before buying a new sub.

Had a Polk Subwoofer that had a blown amp. This fit in the original cabinets amp hole with just a little cutting of the cabinet. Works better than the original amp.
