HiVi M8a 8" Aluminum/Magnesium Woofer

Looked at the TS parameters first before trying these as replacements for the 2 drivers in one channel of a pair of Magnat MSP-120's (3-way, 4-ohm, full-range, sealed towers). Good response out of the box and leveled out nicely a few days later. The low end is nearly identical to stock, with possibly a little higher roll off (I haven't tested it yet, but it doesn't sound like it could be more than say 2 or 3 hz higher), but I think that wouldn't be the case if the box was just a little larger (the stock 120's are rated 28-34k, +or- 3db). Even so, the mid-bass and up to crossover (around 6 or 700hz?) has noticably more detail when directly compared with the stock side and the textures of lower range vocals and instruments have improved giving a nice sense of balance to the overall sound that it didn't quite have before. Unexpected and sweet! I was just looking to avoid professional repair costs, but this is way better than what I was hoping for! No complaints!!

For a 8" woofer the the bass is deep. Becareful with the connector board, it will turn on you as you are pushing the connector on. I thought the wire from the board to the speaker was going to rip out.

Sound is deep, clear & sharp.
