These DVC subwoofers are the most versatile drivers in the Dayton Loudspeaker line up. They were engineered to provide very good performance in sealed, vented, bandpass or even transmission line designs. The dual 8 ohm voice coils allow for use in a variety of applications and wiring configurations. Each driver features a heavy gauge stamped steel frame, super stiff Kevlar impregnated paper cone, thick foam surround, flat progressive spider, vented pole piece, dual high power Kapton voice coils, heavy duty braided tinsel leads, and rubber magnet cover. I bought a dbx 15" subwoofer 15 years ago, and it worked fine until I pushed it a little too hard. Replaced it with a Pyle Pro, and it's been rattling for too long. Replaced that with the Dayton, and boy, howdy, does it rock! I'm using an old BGW 250-D to power this and it DOES shake the floor. This is the best subwoofer speaker I've had hooked up to my system. It compliments my Klipschorns very nicely. Novies are the best thru this subwoofer. I own and run P.A. systems, so I'm not a novice at this. This is the subwoofer to buy!

I've had one of these in use since 2002. I mounted it inside an 18" sonotube built to a volume of 260L and tuned to 17hz. I use a Dayton 250w plate amp. It has been used behind a screen wall in a custom home cinema that is 14'x26'. I bought a second DVC on sale for $99. These are the best bang for the buck around even at regular price.

Dropped two of these DVC into the pre-made Dayton 15" sub boxes with an SA240 mounted on back of each box to power the DVCs.......to say that these DVCs hit hard is an understatement. Exceeded expectations on all counts! I use them primarily for music at concert level sound but they more than hold their own in home theater situations.
