Heavy Duty Soldering Iron Stand

Cheap, tough, heavy base, quality tip cleaning spunge. We use these for our solder sucking irons. Makes for a tidy bench set-up.

This is a good inexpensive soldering iron stand. It is easy to put together, has a heavy metal base, and fits 20 - 40 watt irons well. It worked well with a Weller WP-25 soldering iron. The small cardboard circle in the box is the sponge when you get it wet it will expand back to regular size and take on a sponge appearance.

I never really thought much about a solder iron stand, but now that I have one I really like it. This is my first and I have nothing to compare it to. My 40yr old iron recently fell off the workbench and now wears a duct tape badge. It also used to dance around on the workbench burning things like welding by melting the cap on my Sharpie maker etc... No more unwanted burn marks or noxious smells of burning plastic. The iron is held in position for quick grabs and I'm really pleased with how easy the sponge makes it to work with a clean tip with. I think the quality of my solder joints is better. Overall its a pretty low tech device, and I was really surprised how my old Weller iron exactly fit into the holder.
